Wow! The new year caught up to me much faster than I anticipated and now February is here. How in the world did THAT happen?

I guess that is what happens when you blink once or twice.

Regardless, I was thrilled to get to start off 2012 with some great friends who, despite being spring chickens, were celebrating three years together! We met down town on a bright and sunny Sunday afternoon and despite the stiff breeze, had a great time just hanging out, poking fun, and relaxing together.

Watching these two together reminds me of this quote (author unknown) ...

An anniversary is a time to celebrate the joys of today, the memories of yesterday, and the hopes of tomorrow.

K & D are certainly full of today's joy. They share a wealth of yesterday's memories. And they are the absolute embodiment of tomorrow's hope.

Here's to many more years together!

Big thanks go to my better half for snapping this image of my mom and I. It's rare enough for me to come out from behind the camera, but doubly so to find mom and I together in the same frame.

I am so very thankful that she and Bubba and his family were able to make the trip up here for the holiday. And I can think of no better image to finish off this little challenge.
