P52 - Week 15

Late again. Sick this time. But no time for apologies. Instead, we'll jump right to the photos:

Let me introduce you to the Splash Brothers. :+) This is my boy and his best bud. And after a week of unseasonably warm (even by Texas standards) weather, they convinced me that their Friday afternoon should be spent jumping through the sprinkler, dodging water bombs, and slurping frozen treats. How could I say no? Obviously, I couldn't.

They did learn that the 30 mph wind kept them shivering more than they would like, despite the balmy air temperature. And all too soon, we retired inside for popcorn, dry clothes, and video games.

It was a nice way to celebrate the season though. Spring is ever so short in these parts and it was nice to be outside, soaking in the vitamin D, and not yet collapsing from heat exhaustion.

Happy Spring, Splash Brothers!

Bubba and his boys

While the circumstances that brought us together were less than ideal, my "baby" brother and I recently got to spend about an hour in the Sam Houston park in our hometown. To up the enjoyment factor, Bubba was there with his 2 boys. And a cuter set of nephews there just doesn't exist (imho).

I enjoyed walking through the park on that crisp autumn day. Each breath was like soaking in a bit of my childhood. I can recount all of the photo sessions with our cousins there. I recall numerous school field trips. Literally, with every step, I took another stroll down memory lane.

Having the boys there made it double fun though. It was like rediscovering the park. All that was old, was new again; awe-inspiring. It felt good. What more can I say?

Here are a few of my favorite images from our short time there as well as a holiday card for my brother.

Love you guys!

You can't deny ... I have some TRULY adorable nephews! I only wish their sister could have been with us.

About This Blog

I'm a proud mom of a very active little boy. I have truly enjoyed the opportunity to document the many milestones throughout his life so far. These moments are precious to me. So I grabbed a camera and snapped away. I dabbled a bit in scrapbooking and took some time to learn at least the basics of photography. After all, kids grow so fast and you can't turn back the time.

But as he got old enough for school and team sports, I was so very disappointed in the offerings out there. I'm proud of my All Star in every thing he pours his heart into!

So I picked up a copy of Photoshop and tried my best to create momentos to capture these memories.

I'd love a chance to help you stop time for a moment as well.
